Rental terms and requirements

Everything to know before you take the keys — deposit, mileage, fuel, and insurance.

Driving licence and ID

Ethiopian licence, or an international permit with a passport. Minimum age 22.
Deposit
Refundable deposit
5000 ብር
5,000 ETB for economy and sedan, 10,000 ETB for 4×4 and vans — returned on handback.
Mileage
Extra kilometre
15 ብር
200 km a day included; anything beyond is charged per kilometre.
Fuel
Full-to-full fuel policy
0 ብር
Leave full, return full — any shortfall is taken from the deposit.
Driver
With a driver
800 ብር
Per day — required for regional trips and the Coaster. Driver lodging is on the renter.
Return
Late return
500 ብር
Per hour past the agreed time; over three hours counts as a full day.

Is insurance included?

Every car carries third-party cover; the renter’s excess in an accident is up to 15,000 ETB.

Can I drive outside Addis Ababa?

Yes, but tell us the destination in advance — some regions require one of our drivers.

Can I cancel a booking?

Cancel 24 hours before pickup for a full refund; after that one day’s hire is retained.
