Terms of Service.

Kefita (“Kefita”, “we”, “us”) operates the website builder at kefita.ai, the free web addresses at yourname.kefita.ai, and the related domain, hosting and AI editing services (together, the “Service”). We are based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

These Terms are an agreement between you and Kefita. By creating an account, publishing a site or paying for a plan or domain, you agree to them. If you use Kefita on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business, and “you” includes it.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the legal capacity to enter a contract under Ethiopian law, to open an account. Give us accurate details and keep them up to date — we use your email to send receipts and important notices.

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password private, and tell us at support@kefita.ai straight away if you think someone else has access.

Kefita lets you create a website from a template, edit it by hand or by describing changes to our AI, and publish it on a kefita.ai address or a custom domain. The free Starter plan and the paid Pro and Business plans include the features and limits shown on our pricing page at the time you pay.

We improve Kefita continuously, so features may change. If we remove something material from a paid plan during a period you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance and offer a fair alternative or a pro-rata refund.

• All prices are in Ethiopian birr (ETB). Any taxes that apply are shown at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Chapa Financial Technologies using Telebirr, CBE Birr, bank transfer or card. We never see or store your card number or mobile-money PIN; Chapa’s own terms also apply to the payment.
• Plans are paid for one month or one year at a time. They do not renew automatically — when a period ends you can renew, switch plans, or your account returns to the free Starter plan. Your sites stay online on Starter, with the “Made with Kefita” badge and Starter limits.
• A plan or domain is active once Chapa confirms the payment. If a payment fails or is reversed, the related upgrade or domain is not provided.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

When you buy a domain through Kefita, we register it for one year through our accredited registrar partner, point it at your Kefita site, and set up security certificates for you. Domain registrations are also subject to the rules of the registry for that extension (for example, Verisign for .com) and ICANN policies.

• Registered domains are non-refundable — registry fees are paid the moment the domain is registered.
• Each renewal is a new yearly payment, priced in ETB at the time of renewal. We remind you before expiry; an unrenewed domain may be lost.
• You may ask us to transfer a domain you paid for to another registrar, subject to the registry’s rules (including the 60-day lock after registration or transfer).
• You are responsible for making sure a domain name doesn’t infringe someone else’s trademark or name.

You keep ownership of the text, photos, logos and other material you add to your site (“Your Content”). You give Kefita a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize images) and transmit Your Content only as needed to run the Service and show your site.

You are responsible for your site and everything on it — including prices, opening hours, menus, medical, legal or financial claims, and any offers you make to customers. You confirm that you have the rights to everything you publish, that it is accurate, and that your business holds any licence required for what it advertises.

Kefita uses artificial intelligence to draft and edit website text, suggest templates and translate between English and Amharic. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, or similar to content generated for others.

Always review AI-generated content before you publish it. Once you publish, the content is Your Content and you are responsible for it. Kefita does not guarantee that AI output is accurate, original, or suitable for your business.

Don’t ask the AI to create content that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy. Text you send to the AI is processed by our AI provider to produce the result, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: no illegal content, no fraud or impersonation, no hate speech, and nothing that harms visitors or other customers.

The Kefita software, templates, design system, brand and documentation belong to Kefita and its licensors. While your account is active you may use our templates and bundled stock images on your Kefita sites. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the templates or the Service, or remove the “Made with Kefita” badge on the Starter plan other than by upgrading.

We work hard to keep sites online around the clock, but the Service is provided on an “as available” basis and may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons outside our control, such as internet or power outages and failures at our hosting, payment or domain providers. We provide support by email and Telegram during working hours in Addis Ababa.

You can stop using Kefita at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or remove a site, or close an account, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law or an authority requires it, or to protect visitors, other customers or the Service. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

If we close your account without fault on your part, we refund the unused part of any prepaid plan. Domains you paid for remain yours until they expire, and we will help you transfer them.

To the extent permitted by Ethiopian law, Kefita is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid Kefita in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or wilful misconduct.

If someone makes a claim against Kefita because of Your Content, your domain name, or your breach of these Terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses this causes us, including reasonable legal fees.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. If you have a complaint, please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly. If we can’t resolve a dispute within 30 days, it will be settled by the competent courts in Addis Ababa, unless the law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

We may update these Terms as Kefita grows or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in your dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Kefita after that means you accept the updated Terms.
