01Why this policy exists
Kefita exists to help honest Ethiopian businesses get online. To keep the platform trustworthy for customers, visitors, our payment partners and domain registries, every site and every use of our AI must follow this policy. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
02Prohibited content
You may not publish, or ask our AI to create, content that:
- is illegal under the laws of Ethiopia, or promotes illegal activity;
- spreads hate speech or disinformation, incites violence, or attacks people based on ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender or disability — as defined in the Hate Speech and Disinformation Prevention and Suppression Proclamation No. 1185/2020;
- sexually exploits or endangers children in any way, or contains pornography or non-consensual intimate images;
- is fraudulent or deceptive — including phishing pages, fake shops, advance-fee scams, and sites that impersonate banks, Telebirr, CBE, Ethio telecom, government bodies, NGOs or other businesses;
- offers pyramid or Ponzi schemes, or unlicensed investment, forex, crypto-trading, lending or money-transfer services;
- sells or promotes illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or unlicensed gambling;
- sells prescription medicines or medical services without the licences Ethiopian law requires;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights — for example, using another company’s logo or photos without permission;
- publishes other people’s personal data (phone numbers, ID documents, photos) without their consent, or harasses, threatens or defames anyone;
- contains malware, cryptominers, or code designed to harm visitors’ devices or collect their data secretly.
03Prohibited activity
- Using contact forms, Telegram alerts or sites to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages.
- Opening multiple free accounts to get around plan limits, or reselling Kefita without our written agreement.
- Trying to access other customers’ data, probe or overload our systems, or bypass security, rate limits or AI-usage limits.
- Scraping Kefita, our templates or other customers’ sites at scale, or using automated tools to create accounts.
- Using our AI to generate content for use outside Kefita in a way that breaks these rules.
04Regulated businesses
Clinics, pharmacies, schools, financial services, tour operators, real-estate brokers and other regulated businesses may use Kefita, but must hold every licence their activity requires in Ethiopia and display accurate information. We may ask you to show a valid trade licence before a site is published or kept online.
05What we do about violations
Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- ask you to change or remove content;
- unpublish a page or site, or disconnect a domain from Kefita;
- suspend or close your account without a refund, for serious or repeated violations; and
- report illegal content to the relevant Ethiopian authorities, our payment partners, or the domain registry.
Where the law and safety allow, we’ll tell you what we found and give you a chance to respond. If you think we made a mistake, reply to our notice and we’ll review it.
06Report abuse
If you see a Kefita site that breaks these rules — for example a scam or a site impersonating your business — email support@kefita.ai with the subject “Abuse report” and the site’s address. We review every report, usually within one working day, and faster for fraud and safety issues.
