Weekly round
500 ብርper week
For traders and workers with daily income
- 20 members · 20 weeks · 10,000 ETB payout
- Payout order drawn each Sunday
- Winners leave the pot until the round ends
- 50 ETB weekly late fee after a three-day grace
- One member vouching is enough
Monthly round
5000 ብርper month
For salaried members and steady incomes
- 12 members · 12 months · 60,000 ETB payout
- Contribution due by the 5th of the month
- Full payout order drawn at the first meeting
- 50 ETB per week late fee
- One guarantor who is a member
Large round
10000 ብርper month
For restocking, a vehicle, or building a house
- 12 members · 12 months · 120,000 ETB payout
- Two guarantors and a trade licence copy
- First three payouts fall after month six
- A written agreement signed by every member
- Exit only by bringing an approved replacement
There is no joining fee. The 50 ETB weekly late fee goes into the group’s reserve account.

What happens if I miss a contribution?
You get three days to settle. After that a 50 ETB weekly late fee applies. Miss twice in one round and your guarantor covers it; if not, you leave the round and your contributions are refunded when the round closes.
How is the draw done?
Every name goes into one container on identical slips, and the draw is made by a member who has not yet won. A winner’s name does not go back in until the round ends. The whole draw is filmed and posted on Telegram.
Who holds the money?
No individual keeps it. Contributions sit in a group account at Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, and a withdrawal needs the chairperson’s, treasurer’s, and secretary’s signatures together. The ledger is read to members every Sunday.
Can I leave in the middle of a round?
If your turn has not come, give written notice and leave — your contributions come back at the end of the round, less a 2% administration fee. Once you have taken a payout you must finish the round or bring a replacement the committee approves.
